The first tutorial is a video on the selection tool. The narrator explains that when you select a part of an image, you are selecting a group of pixels within the image. You can then edit the selected pixels in numerous ways, and even put them into another image. This can be useful for combining images in Photoshop, similar to Project 3 in my portfolio.

The second tutorial is a video on refining the edges of a selected part of an image. This comes in handy when trying to place one photo onto another. This works particularly with objects with soft edges, like the dog in the video. You can refines edged by using the quick selection tool, then clicking refine edges under the select bar at the top of the Photoshop window. Refining your edges can make images that are photoshopped together smoother, and make it look like an image was actually take that way.

The third tutorial is a video on the drop shadow. You add a drop shadow to photoshopped items to make it look like they are actually in the image you combined it with. This gives it a more 'real' feel to the image. You looks at the layer style, then duplicate the layer, but as a silhouette. YOu can then flip and transform the 'shadow' of the layer to look like a shadow cascading from the photoshopped item.
