Video Tutorials for February 12th

For class we were required to watch 5 videos about adobe illustrator. The first one was titles "What is Adobe Illustrator?" This video describes Adobe Illustrator for artists designers, businesses, etc. People everywhere can use Adobe Illustrator for logos, icons, art, and associate it with the other Adobe products such as InDesign and Photoshop.

The second video was titled "Setting up a new document." This tutorial shows how to create a new file in Adobe Illustrator. You simply click file at the top right hand corner, then click new. There are many options when creating a file. For example, you can set it up for print, the web, or video. For a color scheme for video, you use RGB and for a color scheme in print, you use CNYK.

The third video is "5 Tips for Drawing in Adobe Illustrator." This video teaches how to be efficient in creating image in Illustrator. He explains that when viewing something that you want to draw, visualize the individual shapes in the object. He uses a magnifying glass as an example. He also explaines that you should practice drawing shapes to get good at them. He also provides some shortcuts like using shift to make a perfect shape and Alt to draw the shape out from the center. He also says you shoudn't worry about perfection until the end of the piece.

The fourth video shows how to use the shape tool. The narrator explains that even the most complicated-looking pieces created in Illustrator are made with the simple shape tool. He goes through how to use the many different shapes and shows how simple it actually is.

The final video explains how to save your document. You can save a document in many different formats. For example you can save a documents as an Illustrator file, or as a jpeg to view it anywhere. You can also save the document for the web to publish it in a post or compress it to the size you want. If you click package, you can copy the link to your piece.
